Police dismiss Zakari Biu …7 promoted to DIGs

Police Commissioner, Hassan Zakari Biu, the officer on whose custody Kabiru Sokoto, the suspected mastermind of  the Christmas Day bombing of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla,  escaped has been dismissed from service.
Sokoto, however, has been re-arrested.
In a statement by the Police Service Commission (PSC), chairman of the commission, Mr. Parry Osayande,
said that Biu’s dismissal, which will take with effect from today, is as a result of his culpability in the escape of Sokoto.
The PSC also announced the promotion of seven officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, and 13 to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General.
The new DIGs are:  Suleiman Dauda Fakai, Atiku Yusufu Kafur , Emmanuel Kachi Udeoji, Haruna John, Peter Yisa Gana, Marvel Akpoyibo, and Abdurahaman O. Akano.
Those promoted to AIGS are Solomon E. Olusegun, Michael E. Zuokumor, Orubebe Gandhi Ebikeme, Philemon I. Leha, Jonathan Johnson, Dan’azumi Job Doma, Joseph Ibi, Muktari Ibrahim, Suleiman A. Abba,  Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe,  Saliu Argungu Hashimu, Solomon E. Arase, and David O. Omojola.
