World Economic Forum names Akudo ‘Young Global Leader

The CEO/founder, Friends Africa, Dr. Akudo Anyanwu Ikemba ,has received the "Young Global Leader' (YGL) 2012 award from the World Economic Forum, a Swiss non-profit foundation based in Geneva in recognition of her professional accomplishments and commitment around the world.

Ikemba founded Friend for the Global Fund Africa (Friends Africa) in 2006 as an Africa voice in support of the global fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria and to increase the capacity of African government, businesses and community-based organizations to manage these diseases. Under her leadership,

Friends Africa has helped to raise over US$5million in 2010 for AIDS, TB and malaria.  She also inspired the organization to mobilize over 560 million US$ to countries across Africa for the purpose of integrating family planning and HIV services.
