Vigilante group rescues three kidnapped victims in Delta

MEMBERS of the Ughelli Vigilante, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, yesterday rescued three kidnap victims from the den of their abductors.
The three victims identified as Mrs. Edore, and Eloho Tom, nine years and Mr. Harrison Agwemuria, son of the Supervisory Councilor for Finance in Ughelli South Local Government  council, Saturday Vanguard gathered were intercepted and abducted on Friday by the suspected kidnappers by Setraco yard along the East-West road in Ughelli at about 10pm.
The victims, who were driving in a Toyota Camry were ordered out of their car and driven off by the suspected (kidnappers) in their car, according to a dependable source.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said Mr. Harrison Agwemuria was seriously wounded in a clash between the suspected kidnappers and men of the Ughelli vigilante team, adding that men of the Vigilante group swung into action on a tip off.
Disclosing that the victims were rescued from the kidnappers at their moribund rubber factory hideout in the hitherto peaceful Ekakpreme community, he said the suspected kidnappers had contacted Harrison’s mother on telephone demanding N20 million as ransom for the release of her children.
They unleashed terror on their victims before fleeing their hideout after getting information that they were being trailed by men of the Vigilante group.
Mr. Harrison Agwemuria, who was injured on the head and other victims were rushed to the Mariere Memorial Central Hospital by the vigilance group for medical attention.
