Edo Guber: How Oshiomhole brainwashed Nigerians – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday alerted security agencies on the need to be alert alleging that Governor Adams Oshiomhole after sufficiently brainwashing Nigerians could do anything if defeated at the Saturday's governorship poll.

Director of Publicity of the PDP, Mr. Okharedia Ihimekpen, who raised the alarm in Benin, called on the army and police personnel deployed in the State for the election to be extra-vigilant.

Noting that Oshiomhole has brainwashed many people outside the state to believe that he is the most preferred choice of Edo people, he said "this is part of the propaganda and deception that that the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) government has foisted on the State."

"But this is far from the political realities in Edo today. The governor has been able, to a large extent, demonized the PDP and created the impression that the PDP is not on ground and has planned to rig the governorship election. Whereas, as a matter of fact, Oshiomhole and his ACN are the ones that have perfected all manner of strategies to rig themselves to victory in tomorrow's election."

Ihimekpen said "credible pieces of information that have reached us indicate that these criminal elements would be kitted in security uniform and armed with weapons of destruction with which they will unleash mayhem on innocent electorate and citizens.

"They plan to disrupt voting in places considered to be PDP's strongholds.  In fact, the purport of their mission is to undermine the integrity of the election so that they would be able to rationalize the imminent defeat of the ACN candidate."

He, however, counseled that "we should not take the election as a do-or-die affair if we are really interested in offering service to our people and not that we are seeking power for personal aggrandizement. "We should all be committed to a free and fair election."
