Panic as news of Boko Haram strike at NYSC camp spreads

There has been panic across the country as the rumour mill went abuzz that dreaded sect, Boko Haram, had struck at the camp of the National Youth service Corp in Bauchi, Bauchi State, killing over 50 graduates.

Parents with graduates undergoing the compulsory one-year service period have been making frantic calls to relevant authorities to find out the situation of things.
Even social networks such as Facebook and Twitter have been very busy, with interested persons trying to confirm the authenticity of the information.
Information available to The Eagle Online, however, has it that there has been no such strike at the NYSC camp in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
A check on the camp also confirmed that both the officials of and participants in the scheme also heard the rumour just as those outside the camp.
A participant told The Eagle Online that a roll call was made after the rumour filtered into the camp.
She told The Eagle Online that nobody was missing from the camp.
