JTF kills 5 suspected terrorists in Maiduguri

The Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) said on
Saturday that it killed five suspected terrorists after repelling an
attack from the terrorists in Maiduguri.

This is contained in a statement by Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, the spokesman
of JTF, in Maiduguri.

It stated that the terrorists attacked the JTF patrol team with an
Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) on Friday.

"There was an IED attack targeted at JTF patrol team at Ruwan Zafi,
Dikwa-Gamboru Road in Maiduguri by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

"Fuel Propelled IED was used by the terrorists during the attack,
which resulted to fire outbreak that burnt some adjoining shops,'' it
stated.

The statement added that two soldiers and a teenager were wounded.

It stated that normalcy had since been restored in the affected area,
noting that people had resumed their normal activities, unhindered.
