Kaduna residents yesterday continued the protest against the fuel subsidy removal. The protest which was led Alhaji Balarabe Musa, former governor of Kaduna state, President of Civil Rights Congress, Mallam Shehu Sani, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladoja of the Occupy Nigeria group and former chairman of the state branch, Nigerian Bar Association, Aliyu Umar.
They are protesting and insisting that the pump price of petrol be reversed to N65 per litre. Musa said that the calling off of the nationwide strike by Labour was disappointing and urged the civil society groups to carry on until government reverses the price to N65.
“Now , they have decided to accept N97 per litre and to suspend the strike without consulting with CSOs. Nigerians should know now that NLC had always adopted a wrong approach to strike. They call on CSOs and Nigerians to support them in their strike but they have formed the habit of abandoning the strike half way.
We would continue the strike in Kaduna and would link up with others, mainly in Abuja, Lagos and Kano. Sani vowed that protest would continue as long as government remains “stubborn
