Boko Haram launches more attacks in Yobe, Borno

VIOLENT Boko Haram sect members on Monday launched fresh attacks in
Yobe and Borno states leading to the death of at least seven persons. Among
the dead were a policeman, a civilian and an unnamed local politician.

This is coming on the heels of violent attacks on Kaduna during Easter
celebration in which scores lost their lives and several properties worth
millions of Naira destroyed.

The affected areas were Potiskum, Yobe State capital and Dikwa, a Borno
town. In Dikwa, the sect members set ablaze a police station, a bank and a
hotel. However attempt to similarly burn down the local government
secretariat was abortive as security agents repelled them.

Yobe State Police Command spokesman, Toyin Gbadegesin who confirmed
the incident said in Potiskum, a seven-year-old girl was killed during a failed attempt to kill her policeman father hours after the group's members killed three in a separate raid.
