Gunmen kill ex-police inspector, resident in Borno

SUSPECTED gunmen on Monday attacked the residences of a retired inspector of
police and a resident in the Railway Quarters of Abaganaram ward of Maiduguri in Borno state, killing the two before their wives and children.

Even though the Joint Task Force (JTF), was not aware of Monday's multiple attacks and killings, the police authority however, says that two corpses were brought to the Borno State Specialist Hospital mortuary in Maiduguri in a JTF black patrol vehicle by some plain cloth policemen attached to the task force at about 1.30am.

Hospital officials could not confirm if the corpses were victims of the Boko Haram attack at Railway Quarters.

Spokesman of the Borno state police command, Samuel Tizhe, an ASP said that suspected gunmen attacked the residences of a retired police officer and another resident on Monday at the Railway Quarters, adding that the suspects came on foot before firing several shots into the heads and chests of the victims.
