The press statement form the presidency read that the President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has accepted the resignation with immediate
effect of the Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji.
President Jonathan thanks Prof. Nnaji for his services to the nation
under the present administration and wishes him well in his future
endeavours.
The question that comes to mind is that, at this time when there seems
to be changes in the power sector, why will the Power Minister put up
a resignation? Is this not that he was easy out of service ?
Bartholomew Nnaji is an Igbo Nigerian scientist, innovator and one of
the inventors of the E-Design concept. He was born in Enugu State, and
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics at St John's
University, and then proceeded to the Virginia Polytechnic Institute
and State University for post-graduate studies.
He is also the founder of the first indigenous owned power generating
company Geometric Power Limited – a private power plant operating in
Aba and was also a former minister for Science and Technology in the
country.
